Making a list of the 25 Best-Selling Books Of All Time is really tricky. Books, especially the old ones, were printed in different ways and languages. Some have shorter versions or longer ones. Some were split into parts and then put together. Others were given away for free or bought in big groups.
And there’s more! Some records aren’t exact, and some publishers say they sold more than they really did. So, we can’t be 100% sure about the numbers. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle with lots of missing pieces. But here’s what we tried to do, following a few rules:
We’re only talking about storybooks. So things like religious books, guides to help you, and political books are not in our list. The Bible and Mao Tse Tung’s Little Red Book would both be super popular! Also, some cool books like The Lord of the Rings and The Count of Monte Cristo aren’t here because they’re hard to count or find good info about.
